The design process for the Grocery Assistant app followed a three-phase approach, spanning a total of six weeks.
During the first phase, our team conducted preliminary research to understand the local Pakistani market and the current state of grocery shopping in the region. This included market research, user interviews, and data analysis to gather insights and inform our design decisions.
In the second phase, we began iterating on the design of the app, using the data collected during the first phase to inform our wireframing process. We discovered that there is currently a lack of popular grocery shopping options in Pakistan, and that the concept of voice-controlled and picture-scanning grocery shopping is still relatively new in the region. With this in mind, we decided to focus on creating an app that would allow users to shop using voice commands, picture scans of handwritten grocery lists, or by browsing traditionally.
In the third and final phase, we validated our design with users to ensure that it met their needs and preferences. We also created a UI library and high fidelity designs for the product, bringing the app to life and refining the user experience.
