MyTownDoesGood" is a web platform that aims to connect businesses with non-profits in order to facilitate collaboration and support for community initiatives. The platform functions like a matchmaking service, connecting businesses with non-profits that align with their values and interests.
The work progress for the "MyTownDoesGood" project began with concept validation, where the team reached out to businesses and non-profits to gauge interest in the platform and gather feedback on the initial concept.
Next, the team conducted user interviews and surveys to gather more in-depth insights into the needs and desires of both businesses and non-profits. These insights were used to generate user stories, which helped to identify the key features and functionality that should be included in the platform.
Using the information gathered through concept validation and user research, the team conducted affinity mapping to organize and prioritize the ideas and features generated. This helped to inform the initial concept for the platform and provided a foundation for the design process.
Next, the team moved on to wireframing and prototyping, using tools like Sketch and InVision to create low-fidelity mockups of the platform. These prototypes were then tested with users to gather feedback and validate the design direction.
Based on the feedback from user testing, the team made iterative improvements to the design, eventually creating high fidelity designs that were visually polished and ready for development.
The "MyTownDoesGood" platform has generated significant interest from both businesses and non-profits, as both parties recognize the need for improved communication and collaboration. The platform's user-centric design is intended to provide a smooth and seamless experience, addressing common frustrations and pain points. Although certain aspects of the design are currently confidential, the development team is working hard to create a product that will effectively bridge the communication gap between businesses and non-profits. Currently, the platform is in the development phase, but we are confident that it will be a valuable resource for improving partnerships and collaborations within the community.
